I can not access the ftp server from the H5 itself. The fact is my H5 is not connected to the net, so its network interface is not configured nor used. Maybe I didn't explain well or maybe I didn't understand correctly your suggestions, but I guess there was some misunderstanding. Personally, I use built-in FTP client in Total Commander (the best file manager for Windows OS).
If your box is often turned off, the IP address automatically assigned can be changed, so wifi-router would be appropriate to assign an IP address for your box manually via the DHCP service.
If you use more boxes of the same brand in your local network, it is better to use an IP address instead of hostname. If you use your own local DNS, I recommend using the box host name instead of the IP address of the box.
#Ftp via browser password
The password is used the same as for root account, so, if there is no password for root account, there will be no password for FTP access too. Username to standard FTP connection is "root". If you have a wifi router at home and you have access to it, the IP address or host name (DNS name) can also be found in the router.įTP should normally be open (as a daemon) and without a password. MENU > Settings > System > Network > Device settings > Adapter settings You find the IP address in the network configuration directly in the OpenATV MENU.
